The supercooling window at weak and strong coupling

چکیده
Supercooled first order phase transitions are typical of theories where conformal symmetry is predominantly spontaneously broken. In these the fate flat scalar direction highly sensitive to size and scaling dimension explicit breaking deformations. For a given deformation, coupling must lie in particular region realize supercooled transition. We identify supercooling window weakly coupled derive fully analytical understanding its boundaries. Mapping boundaries allows us deformations enlarging characterize their dynamics analytically. completeness we also discuss strongly field with an holographic dual, complete characterization challenged by calculability issues.

Confinement at Weak Coupling
The free energy of U(N) and SU(N) gauge theory was recently found to be of order N to all orders of a perturbative expansion about a center-symmetric orbit of vanishing curvature. Here I consider extended models for which this expansion is perturbatively stable. The extreme case of an SU(2) gauge theory whose configuration space is restricted to center-symmetric orbits has recently been investi...
متن کاملMatrix at strong coupling
We describe the strong coupling limit (g → ∞) for the Yang– Mills type matrix models. In this limit the dynamics of the model is reduced to one of the diagonal components which is characterized by a linearly confining potential. We also shortly discuss the case of the pure Yang–Mills model in more than one dimension.
متن کاملResolution Effects in the Hybrid Strong / Weak Coupling Model
Within the context of a hybrid strong/weak coupling model of jet quenching, we study the consequences of the fact that the plasma produced in a heavy ion collision cannot resolve the substructure of a collimated parton shower within it to arbitrary resolution. We introduce a screening length parameter, LR,,, proportional to the inverse of the local temperature in the plasma, estimating the valu...
متن کاملThe Charge Ordered State from Weak to Strong Coupling
We apply the Dynamical Mean Field Theory to the problem of charge ordering. In the normal state as well as in the Charge Ordered (CO) state the existence of polarons, i.e. electrons strongly coupled to local lattice deformation, is associated to the qualitative properties of the Lattice Polarization Distribution Function (LPDF). At intermediate and strong coupling a CO state characterized by a ...
متن کاملWeak and strong coupling theories for polarizable colloids and nanoparticles.
A theory is presented which allows us to accurately calculate the density profile of monovalent and multivalent counterions in suspensions of polarizable colloids or nanoparticles. In the case of monovalent ions, we derive a weak-coupling theory that explicitly accounts for the ion-image interaction, leading to a modified Poisson-Boltzmann equation. For suspensions with multivalent counterions,...
